HAIR SAMPLES REQUESTED
We are now opening up the submission of hair samples from purebred Friesian horses with megaesophagus for research purposes only (not commercial testing).
We are seeking a hair sample from any/all cases of suspected or confirmed megaesophagus in purebred Friesian horses. Confidentiality is assured. Please consider sending a sample!
If you previously reported your case to us and did not submit a DNA sample, we may not have been able to locate a hair sample for your horse as hoped. Unfortunately, the KFPS hair archive was much more depleted than we anticipated, so we don’t have a hair sample for many of the previously reported cases.
If you have already submitted a blood or hair sample to us, those cases have all been enrolled in the study, and we do not require further samples- thank you!
